How to Host a Mean Girl’s Themed Galentine’s Day Party

How to Host a Mean Girl’s Themed Galentine’s Day Party

In the spirit of Galentine’s Day and the release of the new Mean Girl’s movie, it’s only fitting that we share our best tips for hosting a Mean Girl’s themed party. With Valentine’s Day aka Galentine’s Day just around the corner this movie has been released at the perfect time.

What better way to celebrate this girl-focused holiday than to watch a new version of an old classic. Mean Girl’s is the ultimate girl’s movie, so invite all of your closest girlfriends over, throw on the original or stream the new version, and celebrate with these tips.

Come Dressed in Pink

There are so many fun ways to turn this movie into a party, but some of our favorites involve pulling the most memorable lines. Starting with the dress code for your party. “On Wednesdays we wear pink” is a line everyone knows, so let it inspire your outfits. Request that all of your guests wear pink, regardless of what day of the week it is.

Mix Up a Hot Cocoa Inspired Cocktail

Replace “you can’t sit with us” with “you can sip with us” and have an array of fun alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. Set up a bar area with everything from hot cocoa inspired drinks to a sophisticated glass of champagne.

Are you wondering why we chose hot cocoa? Do you remember this classic line? “Four for you Glen Coco?! You go, Glen Coco!”

Decorate Cakes or Cupcakes

Pick up premade small cakes or cupcakes, plenty of frosting and sprinkles  (especially pink ones!), and order a few of our sugar flowers and set up a decorating station. This portion of the night is inspired by the quote, “I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy”.

Rosé Deep, Empress Moî, and Joie de Vivre are perfect for this pink affair.

Turn it Into a Game

Order your very own burn book (Mean Girls: The Burn Book Ruled Pocket Journal ) and use it to anonymously write things you love about your friends. Before your girls come over write each of their names on a page and leave the book in the center of the room with a pen. Ask everyone to take a moment during the party to write at least one good or funny memory they have with each other. It’s like a yearbook but more fun!

Or, you can take your burn book and have everyone pass it around and write one thing they’re letting go of this year. You can make this love-related if most of you are single or open it up to other things you want to release this season. Galentine’s Day is all about feeling empowered so use your very own burn book to release negativity.
