How to Host an Amalfi Coast Themed Party

One of our favorite summer vacations at Cake Muse is Positano, Capri, or Sorrento. Nothing is more chic than a simple meal with fresh ingredients, limoncello, and a little ambiance to transport you to the Amalfi Coast.

Hosting an Amalfi Coast themed party is easier than you think, and we've got all the tips and tricks to help you make it a memorable and easy event. This theme is so versatile it can be used for a dinner party at home, a kid or adult birthday party, a going away party, bridal shower, even a wedding theme! It's easy to end up in the "over the top" vibe really quick with this theme. Keep reading to see how we suggest hosting ideas while still maintaining a chic and not cheesy Italian party.

Setting the Scene

Transform your party space into a slice of Italian paradise. Start by decorating with the traditional colors inspired by the Amalfi Coast's breathtaking landscapes. Think azure blue, lemon yellow, and vibrant coral. Hang string lights to create a magical ambiance reminiscent of the coastal towns at dusk. If you have a tablecloth or a scarf with these colors, it can really set the scene. Even a crisp white linen tablecloth can be very elegant and is what you typically find on the coast in all the restaurants. Instead of buying flowers to decorate the table, we suggest fresh produce. Large purple artichokes from the market will be an unexpected and an easy way to decorate. You can cook them after the party as well so they are not wasted. Here are a few items we suggest to start your inspiration.

Thirst Quenchers

Keep your guests hydrated with a selection of refreshing beverages. Serve up a Lemon Basil Spritz by Giada or an Aperol Spritz, the iconic Italian cocktail that perfectly captures the spirit of the Amalfi Coast. For non-alcoholic options, offer a variety of fruity mocktails like watermelon basil coolers or sparkling lemonade with a twist of mint.

Start with a refreshing Caprese salad featuring juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil. Hauste has a wonderful Alfresco Pesto Menu available with their version of caprese salad which is so special. For the main course, delight your guests with Frutti Di Mare, a homemade seafood pasta. Giada has a wonderful recipe! And don't forget to end on a sweet note with a simple white cake topped with our Limoncello sugar flower spray.
